By Gary & Carol Cox (Tex & Dixie)
| From the moment Tex proposed, I knew nothing
less than a Western wedding would do for us. Deciding the wedding theme was the easy
part. We quickly discovered that the Memphis, Tennessee area had nothing to offer in
Western wedding attire or accessories. Our searches on the internet for ideas and
pictures of western weddings produced no results. We did come across Hazels Western Wear which could provide everything but
the cowboy if you live in the Dallas, TX area (see The Specifics
for details on our clothes, accessories and cakes). Undaunted, we forged ahead determined to do two things: design our dream wedding western style and share our ideas. What follows are all the details from start to finish covering what, when, where, how and how much. It was fun, frustrating at times but well worth it. The picture below shows the end result of our hard work. May I be bold enough to say we make a mighty handsome wedding party... Dixie |

We'd like to say a few words of special thanks to Dixie's brother and sister-in-law, David and Sallie. David manned the still camera and Sallie commendeered our video camera. Most of the pictures you will see of just before, during and after the wedding came from their efforts! Sallie's video which included our escapades at the old time photo place was awesome! |
